Solomon Institute Corporation
SIC was formed in 1996
to create and design a fully functional "Document Image Management"
DIM system that is reasonably priced and easily scaleable
from the CFC Standalone system to the large, multi station, high capacity
enterprise system. The DIM industry traditionally bases system
pricing upon the number of users. The DIM industry also places
a high premium on software maintenance as an additional income
stream, which they traditionally tie to the number of users. Solomon
believes if software is written and debugged properly, expensive
software support is eliminated. This philosophy makes it possible
for small and medium sized businesses to jump in and enjoy the
benefit of this exciting product without the worry of high maintenance
and upgrade costs. Solomon does not penalize large users with
multiple workstations. Solomon stays affordable from the ground
floor to the executive penthouse.
Solomon designed the Computer
Filing Cabinet CFC using industry standard
TIFF and JPG compression for images and an industry standard
SQL database for storage. This allows the files to be accessible
by industry standard software, which makes it possible to MERGE
the system into existing networks and office systems. Software
that is not built around OPEN design leaves the customer vulnerable
to lost data and makes it difficult if not impossible to convert
images when new technology is introduced.
Primarily Solomon sells CFC as a Turnkey
System. We assemble the hardware and software components into
a fully functional system, easily installable, easily learned
and most importantly, easily maintained. Getting started is as
easy as unpacking the boxes and connecting the cables. However,
any part of the system can be provided by the customer and reduced
from the overall price with one stipulation - Solomon always installs
the CFC software. We reduced 85% of the support calls by being
absolutely certain of the correct installation of all the layers
of required software.
